The 3 things I do to fight a cold

Last week, Georgia started getting hit with some colder weather, and I got hit with the yuckies. Sore throat, sneezing fits, hot flashes. It was… yucky. And it felt like on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst cold ever, I was hanging out at a solid 6. Not getting any worse, not getting any better, just a stupid 6.

So I leaned on the 3 things that I swear by to get me through the yuckies.

  1. Warm Lemon Water
    Well, obviously warm water is soothing to a sore throat, but lemon helps your body kick a cold. Illness prospers in an acidic body, and lemon water is alkaline. Consuming more alkaline foods when you’re sick helps balance out your body’s pH level. Lemon’s are also very high in Vitamin C which boosts your immune system. (1)
  2. Royal Camu (POWDER!!)
    Royal Camu comes from the Camu Camu berry. It contains 3575% of your daily Vitamin C intake which is a huge boost to your immune system. (2) Powder is better than capsules because as soon as it hits your tongue it goes into your system, rather than once it is in your stomach.
  3. Bone Broth
    So much of the immune system is in the gut, and bone broth is essential for healing the gut because of the collagen. Bone broth is packed full of amino acids and vitamins that boost the immune system!

Luckily, a few day of this and I’m feeling so much better.
