⚡️SLEEP – Getting 7-8 hours consistently is a game changer. When we get less than 7 hours of sleep, insulin sensitivity decreases and blood-glucose levels are elevated. Studies have shown that after just a couple of nights of compromised sleep, our blood work can look as if we’re diabetic. Lack of sleep has shown to make us fat, weak, and stressed tf out. We’re more likely to store fat when insulin is imbalanced and insulin resistance also contributes to an imbalance in sex hormones.
⚡️MEDITATE – Stress management is crucial for supporting hormone health. Our bodies can only be in one mode: stressed or relaxed – we can’t be in both at the same time. When we’re stressed out, our non-essential systems shut down – so for the sake of what we talk about around here, digestion gets sluggish and reproductive health is compromised. Meditation is a PRACTICE and it is as complicated or as simple as you make it. A few minutes or meditation every day has been shown to lower stress levels, create body awareness, support better sleep, decrease symptoms of anxiety and more.
