I am a Holistic Health Practitioner, energy healer, podcaster, Atlanta local, period expert, sexual health educator, and so much more.
September is PCOS Awareness Month and I want to talk about how PCOS is more of an umbrella term for specific symptoms than an actual root cause. And it most definitely does not have to be an identity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ATTN: This is not to say that a diagnosis can’t bring peace because of course it is helpful to have more information about why we feel the way we feel, but I always encourage my clients not to hang on too tightly to the identity of “having PCOS” or being a “cyster” because you are more than your PCOS symptoms.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PCOS is a group of symptoms typically related to anovulation and elevated androgens.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But finding out I have PCOS is like taking my car in the shop because it won’t start and the mechanic telling me it won’t turn on – Like duh? But WHY??
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PCOS can have a few different root causes such as inflammation, getting off of hbc (post-pill PCOS), insulin-resistance, and adrenal issues. What this means, is that symptoms of PCOS are a result of the issue at hand.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what does this mean for how we address and eliminate symptoms of PCOS?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well my take is that we’re still doing all the things we would normally do to support and nourish hormones and we’re doing them consistently
There may be a few tweaks and/ or specifics depending on the root cause, such as post-pill PCOS may want to follow an HBC detox protocol – but the meat and potatoes are still the same.

Inside of Hormone Bootcamp my clients are given the tools to help them eliminate symptoms of PCOS in a way that feels easy and is sustainable! This is the #1 program for womxn’s hormone health – Send me a message on Instagram with the word “Bootcamp” for more info!
