Before we dive into foods that can boost your libido, let’s chat about what a “normal” libido looks like first.
It is common knowledge that libido and sex are extremely taboo, so you likely have an idea in your mind of what you think your sex life “should” look like. You also probably have an idea of what you believe a “bad” sex life is like.
Let me be the first to say that there is no “should” when it comes to your sex life and there’s no such thing as a “bad” sex life as long as you and your partner/s are HAPPY with your sex life (or even lack-there-of!).
✨ Sex drive is a spectrum ✨
So identifying a libido that is “normal” is going to likely look a little different for every person. The real question isn’t “What is a normal libido?” and instead is “What is a libido and sex life that I’m happy with?”
By answering that question, we also can begin to consider if imbalanced hormones, medications, trauma, etc are impacting the sex life and libido that we desire and are happiest with!
There are a ton of factors that can influence libido such as (in no particular order):
⚡️ Hormones
⚡️ Where you are in your cycle
⚡️ The way your system is wired
⚡️ Trauma
⚡️ Emotional health
⚡️ Mental wellness
⚡️ Hormonal birth control
⚡️ Medications
⚡️ Sexual needs and preferences
⚡️ And more
Are there ways to boost libido naturally?
Yes! Certain foods could be helpful to boost libido naturally.
Foods such as Maca powder, Red wine, Dark chocolate, Oysters, Ginseng, Saffron, Dates, and Pomegranates, are packed with nutrients that can perk up your libido!
