Here’s the truth about weight loss …The body cannot and will not lose weight if it feels unsafe 🙅♀️
If the body feels unsafe, it can store weight to protect itself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Frustrated because you’ve been dieting for 6 months and can’t seem to drop the weight?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Been doing HIIT workouts 6 days per week and feel like you’re gaining weight instead of dropping it?
If you’ve gained unnecessary* weight in the first place, then odds are gut and hormones are out of whack.
⭐️ Weight gain is so much more than calories in vs calories out and is influenced by things like hormone imbalance, gut dysbiosis, and inflammation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So before we can then lose this unnecessary weight, we have to address *why* it happened in the first place so that the body can feel safe enough to lose weight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And intense dieting and exercise creates a stressful environment, not a safe one.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First, we have to come out of a caloric deficit and ensure that we are eating enough and we have to focus on supporting the gut and creating balance with our hormones.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once these things happen and we’ve consistently been showing up for the body for 3+ months, THEN we can introduce weight loss habits such as a temporary caloric deficit and increase activity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Weight loss doesn’t have to be hard and it SHOULDN’T be hard – it is actually pretty simple for a body that feels supported

*I always use the term “unnecessary weight” because there are times that the body needs to gain weight to support the system such as pregnancy, when we’re underweight, when body fat is too low, etc.
