Many foods have powerful benefits for our bodies that can help support skin health! BUT, unless your skin issues are a direct reaction to a specific food (such as an allergy), nutrition is only one part of a healthy skin plan 📝
When I was dealing with hormonal acne, I focused really hard on food – I ate the “cleanest” diet possible 🙄, I tried multiple different diets, I was obsessed with what I ate… Meanwhile, my sleep was shit, I wasn’t working out consistently, my stress was through the roof… And guess what? My skin was still broken out, painful, and wasn’t improving 🥲
It wasn’t until I worked on my overall health that my skin health improved 👏
Remember, nutrition plays a big role – but it is only one part of what supports your body, gut, hormones, and overall health 🫶 So whenever I have a client who has lots of hormonal acne symptoms, we are going to be working with inflammation, the gut, detoxification pathways, hormones, AND nutrition.
This is why I believe I struggled SO HARD for so long to heal the acne I had – I was JUST targeting the acne. I was fighting my skin instead of working with my system to create harmony and balance and an environment that made it easy to heal.
Being a holistic health practitioner means that my job is to look at the body as a whole, not just one piece or one symptom.
